Job Summary:

The MRO Buyer is responsible for efficiently sourcing and procuring Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials required to support ongoing operations. This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the availability of necessary materials while optimizing costs.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for MRO materials.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure a stable supply chain.
• Supplier Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost adherence.

Negotiation:

• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Work to secure favorable agreements while maintaining quality standards.
• Order Placement and Tracking:
• Place purchase orders for MRO materials based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
• Monitor order status and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials.
• Inventory Management:
• Collaborate with internal teams to manage MRO inventory levels and avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
• Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.

Cost Management:

• Analyze costs related to MRO procurement and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or operational efficiency.

Compliance:

• Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement.

Reporting:

• Generate and analyze reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
• Provide regular updates to management on key procurement metrics.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience in procurement, with a focus on MRO materials.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and procurement software.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

BA in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
